Volcengine launches first Agent plan with multimodal models and tools
On May 11, Volcengine launched the industry's first Agent package, Agent Plan, integrating multimodal models and web tools with a dual-drive Model & Harness architecture and a unified billing unit AFP. This marks a strategic shift from model capabilities to ecosystem integration.
The Agent Plan integrates ByteDance's Doubao-Seed series and third-party models like GLM-5.1, combining real-time information retrieval with long-term memory through its dual-drive mode. It offers four subscription tiers, with a free ArkClaw tool included for Medium and above tiers.
This move lowers the barrier for complex Agent development, aiming to boost AI productivity in video creation and office automation. The competition in AI is now shifting from raw model parameters to toolchain integration and implementation, as Volcengine seeks to standardize AI production at scale.
